Feasbility Report: Obama Timeline

“Revolution: Obama Timeline”

1.In a few sentences, briefly summarize what you did.
I accessed a open source online application called Dipity to create a digital timeline following Obama’s journey from high school to the White House. Further, I highlighted how his path as a politician and as a person revolutionized the popular opinion of what a presidential candidate could be in our country.
What key ideas, skills or concepts are needed to complete this project? Be specific.

2.As far as key ideas needed to complete the project, a basic understanding of how Obama’s campaign and the choices he made in his journey were different from the norm of a Presidential candidate is needed. Skill-wise the site dipity.com is pretty straight-forward and easy to use. Basic understanding of how to upload pictures and link videos is necessary however to use the site to its fullest. Research skills and concepts of citing information are also needed to fully complete this task.

3.Specifically, list any Web 2.0 tools, websites, software or other resources used to complete this project. (all tool should be open source, if not please identify)
Dipity.com was the only website needed to complete the task. To create a log in, a simple e-mail and user name are the only things needed.

4.What prior knowledge was needed to complete the task?
There wasn’t much prior knowledge on the topic needed to complete the task. Aside from knowing how to upload photos and do basic research, this project should be fairly doable for any student.

5.What were the obstacles/challenges to completing this project? How did you overcome them?
As far as obstacles and challenges in completing the project, the only thing I found semi-difficult was the idea to highlight the pitfalls of his career. I didn’t find many, so I instead chose to focus on his journey from high school to the presidency as a whole.

6.What needs to be changed in the project?
As previously stated, the idea of highlighting the pitfalls and obstacles he further had to avoid in his journey seemed pretty general. Finding information that covered this proved difficult.

7.What resources (knowledge/content based) did you use to complete this task.
