Feasibility Report #23

1. In a few sentences, briefly summarize what you did.
Created a video game based off the School House Rock video "I'm Just A Bill" using the program scratch.

2. What key ideas, skills or concepts are needed to complete this project? Be specific.
An understanding of the process in which a bill must undergo to become a law is needed. As well as knowledge of the program Scratch and how to create video games.

3. Specifically, list any Web 2.0 tools, websites, software or other resources used to complete this project. (all tool should be open source, if not please identify)
I used Scratch as well as Google images to gain the pictures needed for the video game characters and backgrounds.

4. What prior knowledge was needed to complete the task?
An understanding of the process for a bill to become a law.

5. What were the obstacles/challenges to completing this project? How did you overcome them?
Getting the Scratch program to correctly understand all of the coding for the video game was especially difficult.

6. What needs to be changed in the project?
Originally the project entitled using a timeline to show the process, but a video game felt like a more interactive way for a student to learn.

7. What resources (knowledge/content based) did you use to complete this task.

Created a flow chart that mapped out the resources that Romans acquired from there various captures.

2. What key ideas, skills or concepts are needed to complete this project? Be specific.
An understanding of what was considered valuable in the Roman empire is necessary, as well as basic skills in creating flow charts.

3. Specifically, list any Web 2.0 tools, websites, software or other resources used to complete this project. (all tool should be open source, if not please identify)
I used the open source website LucidChart.com to create the flow chart.

4. What prior knowledge was needed to complete the task?
An understanding of the early Roman Empire is necessary to complete this task.

5. What were the obstacles/challenges to completing this project? How did you overcome them?
I faced no challenges in creating the project.

6. What needs to be changed in the project?
Originally the project entailed creating a timeline, but I felt a better grasping of the topic could be achieved through a flow chart visual.

7. What resources (knowledge/content based) did you use to complete this task.

I created a iMovie which was the medium for a word visual with the intent to define the voice of 3 presidents using their inauguration addresses. I analyzed each individual speech and drew connections from the time period to show how the President used their voice to address the nation at that specific point in time.

2. What key ideas, skills or concepts are needed to complete this project? Be
specific.

As far as key ideas, an understanding of the various issues that each President was facing is necessary to connect their speech to the times. Editing skills are also necessary at a minimum.

iMovie is the only software I used.

Prior editing knowledge was necessary.

Rome.

An understanding of how the Ancient Roman government changed over time is needed, as well

I used gliffy.com, but there are numerous other open-source applications for students to create
flow charts.

I created a virtual picture book that explained the development of the belief system in Rome.

2. What key ideas, skills or concepts are needed to complete this project? Be
specific.

The only key idea needed is a basic understanding of the Roman culture’s history of religion.

used to complete this project. (all tool should be open source, if not please

I used PowerPoint as well as an open source Digital Printing Publication called issuu.com.

4. What prior knowledge was needed to complete the task?

Knowledge of creating PowerPoint presentations is necessary to create the book.

5. What were the obstacles/challenges to completing this project? How did you
overcome them?

I didn’t face any obstacles in completing the project.

6. What needs to be changed in the project?

I think a more complex breakdown of how religion can affect the politics of a society needs to be incorporated into the assignment.
